You might think that these two guns have the same design since they are of the same generation (Gen4), but the 43 is slightly different. glock 42 vs 43x

Glock 42 Vs 43x - When looking for a concealed carry handgun, the choice often comes down to two main contenders that are very similar but have enough different features to distinguish one from the other. In that case, let's compare the Glock 43 to the Glock 43X, a pair of subcompact single-stack pistols from the same manufacturer.

Glock pistols have a good reputation for quality, accuracy and reliability. They are known for their high gun capacities, double stack magazines and polymer frames. 9mm single-stack concealed carry pistols weren't exactly strong until the release of the Glock 43 on April 14, 2015.

Glock 42 Vs 43x

Glock 42 Vs 43x

The G43 was based on a slightly smaller single stack in 380 ACP called the G42. The main competition for the G43 at the time was the S&W M&P Shield line of pistols. The Shield was designed as a small carry pistol and Glock realized that this was the market share they needed to go after.

Comparing The Glock 43 Vs. 43x

However, some G43 shooters had complaints about Glock's new carry pistol. That is, they found the handle too small. For some it was too narrow, for others the grip length was simply too short to shoot accurately and comfortably. A simple answer might be to add a magazine extension that could optionally add an extra round to the magazine capacity, but a longer grip was really necessary.

Glock answered the call by producing the G43X. A slightly larger single stack concealed carry pistol with a longer grip and 10 round magazine capacity as opposed to the 6 found in the G43. So which one is better? Learn more about the 43 and 43X below.

The names of these two pistols are so similar that they can be a bit confusing for those new to shooting or those new to the Glock family of firearms. However, they are different enough with their own unique advantages for a more detailed comparison.

While the two subcompact Glock pistols may appear similar on the surface, the difference between the 43 and 43X is enough that it might have been better to use a different number in the nomenclature rather than adding a Glock X out of naming convention.

Glock 42 Holster And Mag Pouch Combo

As previously mentioned, the G43 is a compact single stack magazine concealed carry pistol. Its footprint is quite small, so it can truly be called a small Glock. The barrel is 3.41 inches long and the pistol grip is approximately 6.26 inches. This gun is 1.08 inches wide and 4.25 inches tall. Holds 6 rounds in the factory magazine and weighs 20.64 ounces.

In contrast, the slightly larger Glock 43X has the same barrel length but is slightly longer with an overall length of 6.05 inches. The slide length increases and is an inch longer at 5.04 inches because the 10-round magazine needs a slightly larger grip frame. It tips the scales at 23.07 ounces. The main noticeable difference is that the slide has an nPVD coating that gives it a silver finish, as opposed to the plain black of the G43. However, Glock recently released the 43X with a black slide as well.

Both pistols lack the accessory rail that has been a staple of nearly all Glock models for the past 20 years. This may have been done to increase the concealment factor of each pistol. However, some companies like Streamlight offer visible white lights that mount on guns and visible lasers that surround the trigger guard. These allow the shooter to add a compact and rugged weapon mounted light.

Glock 42 Vs 43x

The newer version of the 43X has an optical mounting plate as an upgrade. There is currently no such option for the G43.

Glock 42 380acp Ui4250201 Hand Gun Competition Buy Online

The only other major difference between the two pistols is that the 43X slide is milled with forward bevel serrations, while the G43 only has rear bevel serrations into the slide. This is only a good option for shooters who don't have the arm strength to lift the slide that catches the back teeth. It's not a bad idea to do press checks, especially during a tactical pistol training course.

A byproduct of the larger G43X is increased factory magazine capacity. In this case, it's 10 rounds, as opposed to the G43's 6 round capacity. It should be noted that magazines between the G43 and G43X are not interchangeable. So when you're looking for replacement magazines for any handgun, double check to make sure you're getting the right magazine.

If you have larger hands, the extra length of the G43X grip with its larger magazine and increased capacity may make sense.

Subcompact pistols like the G43 and G43X are not known as stick drivers due to their short sight radius, compact ergonomics, and relatively light weight. However, from reading reviews online or in various gun magazines, these two pistols are quite accurate depending on the ammo and skill level of the shooter.

Glock 42, 43, 43x, 43xrail, 48, 48rail

Average accuracy for both the G43 and G43X appears to be between 2 and 3 inches at 50 feet. This is something that could be improved by including aftermarket triggers, such as a Shield Systems sight, or even a small red dot sight that is small enough to handle the slides of these compact pistols discreetly. Upgrade your Glock today with aftermarket triggers and other upgrades!

Depending on the shooter, the differences in accuracy can range from small to significant. A shooter with particularly large hands may find the 43X to have a slightly wider and longer grip than the 43. A shooter with smaller hands may find the opposite. In fact, most shooters probably won't notice a difference in accuracy. Through trial and error, you can borrow a handgun from a friend or go to an indoor shooting range, often with a well-stocked rental unit, to determine what works best for you.

Small guns like these are often unfairly criticized, and “I often carry. I rarely draw" category. Carrying often is never a bad thing. may be rare. Both pistols are reliable and extremely accurate. The 43X offers a better grip for most shooters and should win in the accuracy department unless the shooter has particularly small hands.

Glock 42 Vs 43x

None of these micro Glocks have major performance or reliability issues. Like all Glock pistols, there is a very equal engineering and testing process before being released to the market. Everyone performs at their desired level before entering the public arena.

Glock 42 6 Rd 380 Acp Fde Pistol

With all that information in mind and no subcompact Glock in hand. 43X might look more attractive. A more comfortable grip frame, increased magazine capacity, and a silver slide seem like great improvements and the creation of a better pistol, right?

You have to get away from the written word and pretty pictures and actually pick each one up to see how they work and feel.

While the G43 has an obvious advantage over its little brother, the 43X is a bit more stealthy. Reading the comparison of measurements above may not reveal it, but trying to carry one or the other in an accessory case or ankle holster will certainly reveal the difference.

It is well known that the hardest part of concealing any firearm is the grip. It may not be as wide or long as the grip frame found on a 10mm G20 or G40, but sometimes just inches or fractions of an inch can make a big difference between concealed carry and a "print" gun. Likewise, the G43 may be better suited for ankle carry.

Green Gripsense Light/laser For Glock

It depends on how comfortable you are as a shooter with the G43 or G43X. Hand size can play a role here, as can concealment. While any handgun can be carried openly rather than concealed, the open shooter may want to look at the larger and easier-to-shoot G19 or G17 models as opposed to these subcompact Glocks.

All things being equal, it may come down to aesthetics. Some may prefer the silver of the 43X to the black of the G43. For some shooters, the opposite may be true.

In the end, it's up to you. The slightly larger size and increased magazine capacity may be more appealing to some shooters, while others will appreciate the G43's smaller size and weight. The bottom line is that you won't go wrong with either of these two pistols. It all depends on personal preferences. If you're considering a Glock for concealed carry, you're probably wondering what the difference is between the Glock 42 and the Glock 43. After all, it's only a few, right?

glock 42 vs 26

Glock 42 Vs 26 - Gun enthusiasts can't deny the quality of Glock's semi-automatic handguns. Since the introduction of the legendary Glock 17 in 1983, Glock's reputation for reliability and durability has only grown over time. The Glock 43 and Glock 26 are no exception. Both are excellent subcompact handguns that any discerning gun buyer will want to buy.

The Glock 43 high quality subcompact pistol was first introduced in 2015. The G43 is also one of the smallest and lightest single-barreled guns in the 9mm semi-automatic subcompact handgun family. Glock 43s also maintain the Austrian gunmaker's reputation for reliability and durability.

Glock 42 Vs 26

Glock 42 Vs 26

This pistol has a standard slide that is narrower than other competing 9mm subcompacts, making the pistol very slim and extremely easy to conceal. The small Glock 43 is comfortable and perfect for deep carry, such as in a pants pocket or concealed in body recesses. The G43 also comes with a six-round recessed magazine and a seven-round rosette slide-out magazine for larger hands that require a more comfortable grip.

Glock 42 380acp, Apollo Custom, 3.26\

It's thinner than the G26 and hides very well. Its lightweight, narrow frame makes it easy for small hands to grip and handle. Since its introduction in 2015, Glock has eliminated unnecessary levers on the pistol frame to make the G43 easier to carry and more streamlined in appearance. However, just because it's simpler and more streamlined doesn't mean the G43 can't be outfitted with a variety of extras. Discerning Glock owners looking for something a little more "tactical" will not be disappointed with the Glock 43.

If the G43 has any real downsides, one of them might be its trigger guard. Larger fingers may find the protective cover a little uncomfortable if they stay in it for long periods of time. The grip on the Glock 43 could also benefit from a bit more grip, allowing for a more confident and solid grip. Additionally, there is no Picatinny rail to limit the types of accessories that can be attached to the Glock. Note that the G43 can't even hold the higher capacity 10-round magazine of the G43X because it's a bit thicker.

Glock first released the percussion-operated, semi-automatic G26 model in 1994. The Austrian gun manufacturer designed it for this very purpose, so that it can be well concealed. The small, sub-compact size of this "Baby Glock" makes it an ideal choice for the gun owner's concealed carry.

Law enforcement officers (LEOs) are tactical thinkers by nature. The 9mm Glock 26 is a popular backup weapon among police officers and is often carried in an ankle holster. Because it requires a double-stack magazine to hold ten rounds, the Glock 26 is slightly thicker than the Glock 43.

Side By Side Comparison Of Glock 42 And 36

Not surprisingly, LEOs also like to have more bullets in their firearms, even if they're just for safety, which is one reason the G26 carries ten rounds. Of course, in exchange for multiple shots, what often happens is that the gun itself becomes a little fat, thick, or bulky. Although the Glock 26 is a bit thicker than the Glock 43, it is difficult to handle.

The Glock 26 fires its 9mm cartridges with minimal recoil. It is controllable and not too "bouncey" and has better target accuracy, especially for guns of their size. Because of the shorter barrel length, compact and subcompact guns sometimes require more patience when new owners shoot them for the first time. That said, this Glock is very easy out of the box. Also, as a semi-automatic, the Glock 26 provides a fast rate of fire. By sending one round down as quickly as possible, you can place another and be ready for continuous action. It runs until the magazine is empty. In addition, its smooth action allows the shooter to quickly restore the weapon's aim.

Because of their small size, subcompact pistols are concealed and concealed. In this respect, the G26 is the epitome of Glock's concealed carry philosophy. With the right holster, you can conveniently place your Glock 26 wherever you need it. You can tuck the G26 into a waistband, waistband, jacket, under a sweater, or under a simple T-shirt. If you want or need your small frame rifle to hold more rounds than you'd normally find in a subcompact pistol, the G26 may be what you're looking for.

Glock 42 Vs 26

There are currently three different generations of the Glock 26. With Gen 3, Gen 4 and Gen 5 models currently available, chances are you'll find one that best suits your needs and personal taste.

Advanced Mini Holster For Glock 42/43/43x/48

With the introduction of the G26 Gen 3, Glock added finger grooves and a thumb grip to the popular Glock 26 pistol. According to the gun manufacturer, these grooves and supports provided a better grip, allowing shooters to gain more control and accuracy when shooting. In addition, Glock added a patented universal Glock rail to the dust cover of the G26 Gen 3 pistol frame to accommodate additional accessories such as sights, lasers, and lights.

Finally, Glock designers acknowledged that the G26's finger grooves could be uncomfortable for some shooters. These grooves have caused some to grip the Gen 3 too tightly or awkwardly. Still, with its lightweight frame, the G26 Gen 3, like the other models, is an excellent weapon for concealed carry. Glock 26 improvements and upgrades

Many gun enthusiasts and experts argue that the Glock 26 Gen 4, with significant improvements including reduced recoil, was the version that stood out from its predecessor, the Gen 3. For example, Glock added a modular recoil system to the Gen 4 grip. The Austrian shooter also increased the magazine catch, making it reversible to allow left-handed shooters to aim and fire quickly with their dominant hand. These improvements made it more manageable and comfortable for people with larger hands to shoot, which is a significant improvement for any subcompact pistol.

Like the Gen 3, the Gen 4 is perfect for concealed carry. Its easy-to-manage nature also makes it ideal for those learning to shoot, especially those with small hands. Although the G26 Gen 4 is not fully ambidextrous, the Gen 4 model and its reversible magazine well enhance the left-handed shooting experience. Glock's RTF, or Rough Texture, frame has also improved shooters' ability to grip the G4 comfortably. This additive is excellent in wet conditions where traction becomes very important. A slight downside to the Gen 4 is that the trigger pull weight may be a little heavier for some, given its subcompact size. Its finger grooves can also make it uncomfortable for some shooters to hold the gun for long periods of time. Features of the Glock 26 Gen 4 include:

Glock 42 White Dot 380 Auto (acp) 3.25in Black Pistol

Glock designers who reworked the G26 into their Gen 5 model decided to remove the pistol grip grooves to make the gun more comfortable, increase stability and accuracy. Glock also improved the design of the pistol. It now features the popular nDLC finish, which improves durability and extends the life of the gun, often by years. This innovative Glock coating provided the weapon with increased protection against wear and harsh environmental conditions.

Glock has also improved the accuracy and shooting performance of the G26 Gen 5, made possible by the Glock Marksman Barrel (GMB). Glock stock sights have remained largely unchanged over the years. Still, Glock claims the new barrel can improve accuracy out to 25 meters for the subcompact pistol.

However, the Gen 5 features are about the same as the Gen 4. The pistol's RFT or Rough Texture Finish gives the Gen 5 a better grip, improving target accuracy. Like the G26 Gen 4, the Gen 5 features a dual recoil spring that absorbs most of the recoil and force from the shot. If shot fatigue is a concern, the double recoil assembly will help you relax. Like the Gen 3 and Gen 4 versions of the Baby Glock, the Gen 5 is an ideal 9mm concealed carry pistol due to its small frame and lightweight design. Features of the Glock 26 Gen 5 include:

Glock 42 Vs 26

There's no doubt that the small-frame, sub-compact G26 is a comfortable handgun, weighing only 1.6 kilograms when fully loaded. Other than the potentially uncomfortable grooves of the Gen 3 and Gen 4 versions, there is very little to choose from in the Glock 26. If those grooves are too big for you, step up to the G26 Gen 5 model.

Magazine compatibility and ammo capacity are also very high with the Glock 26. Holds a variety of Glock Double Stack magazines, including Glock 17 and Glock 19 magazines, as well as the Glock Double Stack 33 Round Ultra High Magazine. capacity log. However, don't expect the G26's 33-round magazine to be so concealed.

However, if the most important thing is to be able to fire a lot of rounds without reloading, this is a great gun/magazine combination. Alternatively, you can start with a standard 10 round mag in the G26. Then you can keep a spare 33-round magazine in a roomy coat pocket or magazine holster

glock 42 vs glock 19

glock 42 vs glock 19

Glock 42 Vs Glock 19 - Well, first let me say that I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. It's been a busy couple of weeks for me, but at least we had a chance to hit the range and break into one of my significant other's Christmas presents.

Enter the Glock 42.  I know this thing has been around for a while and a review of another .380, the Beretta Nano, would probably be a little more helpful for first time users, but I also know that before I bought it, I was thing and every data point counts.

Glock 42 Vs Glock 19

Glock 42 Vs Glock 19

Straight to the point: Why the Glock 42? Anyone who personally knows the end user we have in mind will know that she has small hands. SMALL. She's also really liked Glock pistols since she was introduced to them - light weight, balance, easy handling, easy to use scopes, all of which allow her to shoot more accurately (mainly because she really enjoys practicing with it) than almost everything else we have except the trick Kimber Custom Target II. The problem is that Glocks are fat. Her shooting was decent, despite her size not being able to properly grip any Glock she tried. Such a small radius to avoid the grip and hoping to get it down to a small enough diameter to get her hands on would always end up with a substandard group because she would have to reach for the trigger or a bruised right thumb joint from the wrong grip. The Glock 42 mostly solved these problems.

Glock's New G43x And G48 Pistols Vs. The Glock 43 And Glock 19

First, it's small, not exactly Colt Mustang Pocketlite / Ruger LCP / Beretta Pico small, but compared to most subcompacts, this thing is a real mouse gun. More importantly, it's thin, especially for a Glock. This means shooters who might be challenged by palm size get the right grip, which is exactly what we've gone for here. Now there are positives and negatives to this - while it fits her small hands perfectly, she still has the same issue with the length of the less compact grip, even her little finger hanging off a bit. However, this is easily remedied. Another thing I noticed was that with a proper thumb-forward grip, this thing dug into my paws so hard that I had to make a conscious effort not to hold the slide release. But it wasn't a problem when shooting one-handed with a strong or weak hand, and this thing was a joy to shoot one-handed - it would have been a great support.

In terms of functionality - quite impressive. It's not *completely* broken yet, as we only put 200 rounds through it for our first test. We used 100 rounds of Aguila 95gr. FMJ as a beginner and 100 rounds of cheap academy picked up a Monarch 94gr. FMJ to see how low we could go with ammo quality (while still sticking with factory loads). In a 200-round hack, we had a single FTF of about 40 rounds into the fluffy and dirty stuff of the Monarch, which was significantly weaker than the Aguila. For a short .380, this thing came together very well, on par with other compact Glocks. One small flaw, the 6 round magazines - it is a bit difficult to get the rear magazine in as the .380 rounds are short to the point where the lower magazine sinks forward instead of being pushed down, requiring some effort on the rear. Because of the magazine difference here, the standard Glock speedloader (or SLINO, if that's how you feel about it) doesn't work, and they don't have one for the 42 yet.  But that's a practice/training issue, more than anything else.

Mechanically, this thing is just a standard Glock, but scaled down. Not much to say here - disassembly is the same as any other Gen4 Glock. One note on this – even though the 42 uses Gen4 features, it is technically (at least according to the Glock rep I spoke with) first generation, as this is a new pistol. Anyway... built with Gen4 features, I'll still call it Gen4.

Glock 42 Vs 43 Prices - Choosing the right concealed-carry gun can be a time-consuming task. There is no shortage of good sub-pistol deals on the market. Every manufacturer seems to make them, but the Glock remains one of the most popular options. Also in Glock's own line, you have options like the Glock 42 VS 43. Glock's reputation for reliability and quality keeps users coming back for more.

Since their introduction, the Glock 42 and 43 have proven to be quality subcompact guns with affordable pricing. While some Glock owners prefer one model over the other, many own both. The size advantages of subcompact guns may seem obvious, but what are the disadvantages? With so many options available in the same category, how do you decide which gun is right for you?

Glock 42 Vs 43 Prices

Glock 42 Vs 43 Prices

For a better understanding of the similarities and differences we will compare the .380 ACP Glock 42 VS 43 in 9mm. How do these two sub-contracts, one stack of options stack up against each other? Let's see below.

Crimson Trace Laserguard Green Laser Sight For G42 & G43

The Glock 42 hit the market first, the G43 followed and achieved the same commercial success as its smaller brother. After the success of the Glock 43, Glock expanded its single stack series to include the G43X and G48. This sub-compact series focuses on reduced size and weight with improved concealed carry ergonomics and performance.

The first thing you will notice about the glock 42 VS 43 is the size difference. Looking at the two guns side by side, they have comparable dimensions, with the G43 being slightly wider (G43 1.06″ vs G42 0.98″ wide) and taller (G43 4.25″ vs G42 4.13″ long) with the magazine installed. However, the fact that the G43 is also slightly longer is not immediately noticeable unless you hold both guns side by side (G43 6.26″ vs G42 5.94″ length).

Unfortunately, neither the film pistol nor the factory accessory rail. It is possible that Glock's exclusion indicates a choice to keep the size as high as possible. The G42 has the advantage of a compact size, although it is not very spacious. But a little can be a big deal in the clothes you wear.

Can you use your notebooks on your G42 or vice versa? no Although it is possible for security reasons, G42 magazines are only compatible with G42. Unfortunately, G43 magazines are also only compatible with the G43. Glock has not seen a series of slimline sub-compact pistols (G42, G43, G43X, G48) due to magazine compatibility across the board.

First Look: Hands On Review Of The Glock 43x And Glock 48 [video]

The Glock 43 is 30% heavier (G43 20.64 oz/1.29 lbs vs. G42 16 oz/1 lbs) than the G42 loaded with comparable ammo. Part of the extra weight of this is the extra length of the G43. Both guns feel well balanced in the hand, with neither feeling top-heavy like some competing sub-compact guns tend to do. The weight gain goes to the glock 42.

The G43 has a 3.41″ barrel, the G42 has a 3.25″ barrel. Both are standard manufacturer Glock Marksman (GMB) barrels. The barrel of the Glock 43 weighs 2.6 oz and is 1.9mm thick. The barrel of the Glock 42 weighs 1.9 oz and is 1.5mm thick. Both the G42 and G43 are very accurate at 25 yards from the bench.

I tested the accuracy of both rifles by shooting them at IDPA cardboard targets from the web bench with the Fiochi FMJ. I shot two five rounds with the gun, using four different targets. I made a round with the G43 and 6.3" with the G42. At twenty-five yards, those differences are negligible. In my opinion, both guns fit and perform well according to Glock's listed specifications.

The height and width of the G43 is slightly wider than the G42 (G43 1.06″ vs. G42 0.98″). Looking at both sides of the gun, the difference in width is visible. I found, despite the difference, the G42 fits well in most holsters. The only noticeable difference in the holsters was below due to the difference in barrel length.

Glocks N' Roses Glock 43

Both guns have beaver backs, textured hand grips and large textured magazine releases. The G43 has a slightly thicker grip (G43 0.95″ vs. G42 0.85″) which increases stability in the hand. The travel distance of the G43 is greater than the G42 (G43 2.56 vs. G42 2.4″). In my older hands, this made it easier to find the G43 trigger, as the gun slide has more room for his finger to move from its rest.

Both sub-combined guns have some ergonomic compromises, so you can fit them into a smaller pack. It should be noted that the Glock 43 in this comparison features an aftermarket grip made by Talon Grips.

The grip length of both guns feels short in size without the magazine inserted. With the standard flat magazine installed, my pinky finger reached under the magazine on both sides of the gun. I had to use a factory magazine with an extension slide on both guns to make it more comfortable when shooting. If you have small to medium hands, you may find that shorter zippers are more comfortable.

On larger sub-linked guns like the G48 or G43X, the arms are more balanced. Compared to the hands, the G42 and G43 generally feel like a shorter good buy. A certain revolution of the spread through both guns is constantly adjusted to my hand held. Unfortunately, at the time of this writing, there are no factory backstrap options to improve by hand or gun.

Glock 42 Review: A Good Self Defense Pistol?

If you've shot any e-star balls, you already know what I'm coming up with. The "squishy" trigger on these guns does not inspire a sense of factory confidence. There is just the right amount of takeup and the brakes are up after the mechanical work. I put both guns on a digital trigger pull gauge, three trigger pulls for each, and I got an average of about 5.5 pounds.

Are six rounds really enough? This is a beautiful question. Six rounds offer one round more than the capacity of standard revolvers. Bringing more people around in the room can make seven nice, but is it enough? Critics of carrying one stack of handguns for self-defense often point to the limitations of six-round magazines. While higher capacity options such as the G43x and G48 (10+1) are available, are the older G42 and G43 models?

Not silent. Aftermarket manufacturers offer +2, +2, and +3+3 magazine base pads for the Glock 42 and 43. With the machined aluminum +3 base pad installed, either the gun becomes a 9+1 pistol caliber, reducing the advantage of today's simplicity. Stack glocks. Magazine extensions increase the size and weight of both guns, but also make them more competitive. As with any aftermarket accessory, be sure to thoroughly test your weapon after it is installed to ensure it is working properly.

Glock 42 Vs 43 Prices

The G42 crack handles better than the G43. Although I don't have a scientific method to explain it, I do have an accurate explanation. The G42 weighs about 1 lbs loaded, the most common self defense .380 ACP bullet weighing 90 gr. The average velocity of a 90gr bullet leaving a G42 3.25″ barrel is 976 FPS. This gives the G42 a muzzle force of 190 foot lbs with a 90gr .380 ACP bullet.

The G43 weighs about 1.29 lbs loaded, the most common self defense 9mm bullet weighs 124 gr. The average velocity of a 124gr bullet leaving a 3.41″ G43 barrel is 1168 FPS. This gives the G43 a muzzle force of 376 foot pounds with a 9mm 124 gr bullet. This difference of 186 foot lbs means the Glock 43 has nearly double the muzzle energy of the G42.

With that explanation, it makes sense why the Glock 43 feels 'snappier' than the G42. Follow up shots are easier with the G42 and pressing the trigger in quick succession feels more natural. The advantage goes to G42 for dispensing refuse.

Glock 42 VS 43: Both guns tested in ballistic ranges with popular self-defense ammo.

I used a ballistic chronograph to test popular defense ammo for both calibers. I shot ten rounds of Speer Gold Dot 9mm JHP 124gr +P, and a Federal HST 9mm JHP 147gr with G43. Ten-round Speer Gold Dot .380 ACP JHP 90gr, and Federal HST .380 ACP JHP 99gr were also tested with the G42.

Data captured by the chronograph was recorded at a distance recommended by the chronograph manufacturer. It is a calibrated unit designed to capture the ballistics of a pistol. The mechanical function and accuracy of both guns was excellent, I had no problems feeding, firing or ejecting.

A G43 loaded with Speer Gold Dot 9mm JHP 124gr +P pushed an average velocity of 1168. The G42 loaded with Speer Gold Dot .380 ACP JHP 90gr had an average velocity of 967. Federal HST 94mm JHP 94gr loaded with G42. 966 was the average speed. The Federal HST G42 loaded in .380 ACP JHP 99gr had an average velocity of 894. Judging the length of the gun barrel
